This 5 Minute-Exercise You Can Do With Just Your Hands Will Boost Your Energy & Balance Your Emotions

What is JIN SHIN JYUTSU –  it’s the Art of releasing tensions which are the causes for various symptoms in the body. Our bodies contain several energy pathways that feed life into all of our cells. When one or more of these paths become blocked, this damming effect may lead to discomfort or even pain. This blockage or stagnation will not only disrupt the local area but will continue and eventually disharmonize the complete path or paths of the energy flow.

Through Jin Shin Jyutsu our awareness is awakened to the simple fact that we are endowed with the ability to harmonize and balance ourselves (in rhythm with the universe) physically, mentally and spiritually.

This practice is a disarmingly simple style of acupressure. It works with a set of 26 points (called Safety Energy Locks or SELs) along energy pathways. When a pathway becomes blocked, energy stagnates. This initially affects the local area of stagnation, but has the potential to create imbalance along the entire pathway. The 26 Energy Locks are the locations on the body where energy tends to become stuck. (Acupressurists and acupuncturists, by comparison, learn over 300 points.)

A Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner uses both hands (referred to as “jumper cables”) to hold a combination of SELs. The very simplicity and gentleness of the process allow clients to relax and receive the work. As the SELs release and balance is restored, the client experiences physical, mental, and spiritual harmony.

Jin Shin Jyutsu is actually an ancient healing practice. Master Jiro Murai, a Japanese healer and philosopher, rediscovered it in the early 20th century. Murai was led to Jin Shin Jyutsu in response to his own health problems. In his youth he was known for his reckless, overindulgent nature, entering (and winning!) contests that involved consuming immense quantities of food and drink. At the age of 26, he became seriously ill and doctors diagnosed his condition as incurable and terminal.

Murai asked to be left alone in his family’s mountain cabin. As he passed in and out of consciousness, he had visions of spiritual masters using hand mudras, which he began to practice on himself. On the seventh day he underwent an intense healing experience. He vowed to devote his life to discovering the connection between the hand mudras and his dramatic recovery. EACH PART OF THE HAND IS CONNECTED TO DIFFERENT EMOTIONS OR ORGANS:

Many energy pathways run through the fingers. When we harmonize the fingers, we can begin to harmonize the entire ciruclation of life energy in our bodies. The finger holds are very easy. All you need to do is hold a finger on the left or right hand with the other hand. It’s a way to instantly feel more relaxed and at peace.

1. Hold your THUMB for a few minutes with your other hand to eliminate WORRY and DEPRESSION.

2. Hold your INDEX FINGER to eliminate FEAR and SELF-CRITICISM.

3. Hold your MIDDLE FINGER to eliminate ANGER and IRRITABILITY.

4. Hold your RING FINGER to eliminate SADNESS and GRIEF.
